InHome Therapy Acquires Libertas Rehab to Grow Its Community of Therapists in Texas

The home therapy company adds 200 therapists to its network with the deal’s signing.

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 9, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — InHome Therapy, a network of physical, occupational, and speech therapists who work in patients’ home settings, continues to grow and expand its reach. The company finalized an acquisition deal with Texas-based Libertas Rehab at the end of August.

Libertas Rehab is a home therapy concept serving the metro areas of Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston. The business was created in 2014 by Martin Salazar III, Joseph Banlasan, and Jose Salvador, who together had a combined 55 years of experience in healthcare and wanted to bring quality care to people’s homes.

Over their eight years in business, they grew Libertas Rehab to a network of about 200 therapists who conduct an average of 60,000 patient visits annually. This acquisition of providers and guests is a big step in InHome Therapy’s continued expansion.

“We were interested in them because acquiring their brand has enabled us to further expand in the Texas market. We are now in areas that we weren’t in prior because they have a very broad coverage area within the state,” said Rick Anglin, InHome Therapy’s Corporate Development Officer. “We’re excited because their relationships will enable us to grow into other markets as well.”

Salazar, Banlasan, and Salvador, who are joining on as managing partners, are excited to now operate under the InHome Therapy name. Joining a bigger brand affords them many opportunities on a broader scale.

When the founders decided they wanted to sell the business, they did a great deal of due diligence to vet the approximately 60 companies interested in acquiring Libertas Rehab. InHome Therapy was a promising fit and “a good partnership from the start,” Banlasan said.

“I’m very excited for our staff because of the possibilities this opens up for them: stability of work, benefits, professional growth, help with continuing education and things like that,” said Banlasan. “Many of our therapists have been with us from the start, and they’re happy to hear we’re under a bigger umbrella now.”

Taking care of their therapists has always been hugely important to the men, because “if the therapist is cared for, the patient is going to receive quality care,” Salazar said.

The brand is excited to have them stay on as an integral part of the business, Anglin said.

“With these three, we have acquired some very talented management. They understand the business, have great work ethics and had a culture very similar to ours, where everything is centered around the therapist,” Anglin said. “They’re very much devoted to growing and expanding our business. It’s been a great match.”

InHome Therapy Reports Record Growth Fueled by Acquisitions, Market Expansion, and New Capital

The company is expanding its unique Home Therapy as a Service (HTaaS) solution across the United States.

InHome Therapy, the first Home Therapy as a Service (HTaaS) solution in the home health market, has experienced record growth in 2022 as demand for its services soars. The company, which provides physical, occupational, and speech therapist staffing services for home health provider agencies nationally, completed four acquisitions and expanded into two additional markets in the first half of the year. InHome Therapy has also raised additional growth capital from new investor TT Capital Partners and from original investor NewSpring to continue technology development, acquisitions, and new market expansion.

Four acquisitions so far in 2022
The company has scaled dramatically in staff size and geographic reach with the acquisitions of Florida-based Contract Therapy Services, Inc., Austin-based Remedy Therapy Staffing, Dallas-based North Texas Home Therapy Professionals, and Palm Beach-based Advanced Healthcare Services. These transactions have increased InHome Therapy’s therapist network and business staff by triple digits.

“We’re proud to have partnered with some of the most talented and passionate therapists in this industry, and we can’t wait to build on that momentum as we continue to grow,” said Matt Murphy, InHome Therapy CEO. “As the first HTaaS solution in the market, there’s a lot of ground to cover on this new frontier of home health—and we’re excited to do it with talented professionals who genuinely care about our purpose and our commitment to building a community of the best in-home therapists.”

Expanding geographic reach
InHome Therapy also grew its footprint by starting up operations in Orlando and Houston. The company has established contracts with over 40 new home health agencies in those markets, many of which are well-known national brands.

“So far this year, we’ve hired hundreds of therapists and assistants, growing our number of active clinicians across the country to meet demand. This expanded team conducted over 100,000 patient encounters through June,” said Dan Haggerty, InHome Therapy’s chief revenue officer.

As the company has grown, demand for additional clinicians has increased significantly. “In September, we are kicking off an initiative to hire 200 therapists and assistants in two months across California, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Texas, Florida, Ohio, and Indiana to better meet our agencies’ demands,” Haggerty added.

Technology advances
InHome Therapy has also developed technology to streamline processes, maintain efficiency, and support therapists as it grows. To date, the company has launched a tool which helps match referrals with therapists and assistants, and a community platform where therapists can access training and resources.

“At InHome Therapy, we fundamentally believe that to administer quality care, we need to provide therapists with the tools, training, freedom, and support they need to deliver results for our agency partners and their patients,” said Murphy.

InHome Therapy Grows its Reach Through Acquisition of Advanced Healthcare Services

The 12-year-old home care company brings its quality staff and support to InHome Therapy.

InHome Therapy, the company dedicated to delivering caring physical, occupational, and speech therapy solutions in the comfort of patients’ residences, is celebrating the acquisition of Advanced Healthcare Services. The deal closed in early July and marks a major step forward in InHome Therapy’s continued growth throughout Florida.

Advanced Healthcare Services was started in West Palm Beach in 2010 by Jeremy Gabler. In the 12 years since the company’s inception, it has grown an enviable list of accounts and a strong team of quality therapists. The new acquisition means Advanced Healthcare Services’ therapists and administrative team are now operating under the InHome Therapy name.

“The primary reason for this deal is that it allows us to continue to expand throughout Florida and be the dominant in-home therapy provider. We can service more home health agencies and more patients in that area by increasing our talented community of therapists,” explained Richard Anglin, InHome Therapy’s Corporate Development Officer.

Advanced Healthcare Services also offered physical, occupational and speech therapy services to patients in their home, so “the transition has been easy,” Anglin said. “We already have a significant presence in that area and a very talented operations team there to help.”

Gabler sold the company to InHome Therapy so he can focus on his private care and outpatient therapy companies, but will continue to work alongside the business. “I absolutely love the way they are doing it, having these services all over. I would have loved to operate like that, had I had the resources.” Gabler added. “This acquisition is going to aid InHome Therapy. They’ll deepen relationships through these new partnerships and be the first call and ones to capture all of the business.”

InHome Therapy is facilitating a new travel therapy program, expanding the company’s reach to more markets and customers.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA. (PRWEB) AUGUST 11, 2022

InHome Therapy, the world’s first Home Therapy as a Service (HTaaS) concept, is expanding its reach through a new travel therapy program called IHT Travel that launched in July under this new brand.

The service offering arrives as part of InHome Therapy’s acquisition of Remedy Therapy Staffing, an Austin, Texas-based home health company. That acquisition — the latest in a series of high-profile partnerships for the rapidly growing company — will allow InHome Therapy to incorporate Remedy’s robust menu of service offerings, including travel therapy.

Remedy Therapy was founded in 2010 by two therapists, Kristen Fowler and Keri Jackson, who worked together in a rehabilitation center before deciding to start their own home-health business to provide better quality health care to their community.

After more than a year of planning, Remedy Therapy began offering travel therapy in 2021.

“When we started having our first discussions with InHome Therapy, we were in the early stages of planning our travel therapy program,” Jackson said. “It was something we were really excited about, and we were encouraged to find that InHome was just as excited as we were. It was not a service they previously offered, but they saw the same opportunities we were aiming to capture.”

By allowing therapists to travel out of the market, InHome Therapy is able to extend its service reach and company name, as well as create more opportunities for its community of therapists.

“After a few years of fantastic growth, the partnership with Remedy and the addition of travel therapy is one of our biggest milestones yet,” said Rick Anglin, InHome Therapy’s Corporate Development Officer. “Not only will it allow us to reach more patients in a wider range of markets and locations, but it will also allow us to provide more and better opportunities to our therapists, which is always a critical priority for us.”

With the acquisition and Integration behind complete, InHome Therapy is now prioritizing growth opportunities for IHT Travel. “We’ve built our database of traveling therapists, signed new contracts with national and regional agencies who need travelers, and have re-structured the IHT Travel organization to optimize the therapist and agency experience,” explains Jackson. In the second half of 2022, the company will bolster its marketing efforts for travel, introduce technology solutions to optimize the placing process, and add additional placement coordinators. “We’re so excited to see what the future holds,” said Jackson.

InHome Therapy Acquires North Texas Home Therapy Professionals

The company will bring its revolutionary Home Therapy as a Service (HTaaS) solution to the Greater Dallas region.

InHome Therapy has announced the acquisition of North Texas Home Therapy Professionals, a contract home health company that provides in-home physical, occupational and speech therapy services. With more than 50 therapists in its network, North Texas Home Therapy Professionals serves an expansive region stretching from the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area to Wichita Falls.

“One of our key strategies is to expand our footprint through acquisitions, so we are actively looking for strong companies that can fit into our network,” said Rick Anglin, InHome Therapy’s Corporate Development Officer. “The acquisition of North Texas Home Therapy Professionals allows us to provide services to areas we have never been before — a booming region of Texas — and solidify our presence as the dominant provider of in-home therapy.”

As part of the acquisition, North Texas Home Therapy Professionals will transition its team of therapists and employees into the InHome Therapy system. Bob Wincowski, Co-founder and majority owner of North Texas Home Therapy Professionals, will stay in a business development role within the InHome Therapy network, managing his team and helping expand services.

“InHome Therapy’s company culture and belief system align perfectly with ours,” said Wincowski, a practicing speech pathologist. “We share the same values when it comes to investing in our therapists so they can provide top-level care. It’s one of the reasons we (North Texas Home Therapy Professionals) have had a retention rate of 100% since we’ve been in business.”

“Throughout the transition process, Rick Anglin and his team were incredibly helpful; anytime I had a question, I got an answer right away,” Wincowski added. “We genuinely couldn’t be more excited about our future with InHome Therapy.”

North Texas Home Therapy Professionals is the second company from the Lonestar State acquired by InHome Therapy in recent weeks, the other being Austin-based Remedy Therapy Staffing. Looking ahead, Anglin said InHome Therapy will continue to leverage its marketing, development, and recruiting efforts to grow the brand.

“We are poised for significant growth nationwide because we are so focused on patient outcomes and providing all the resources and tools therapists need to deliver sustainable and measurable results,” said Anglin. “The acquisition of North Texas Home Therapy Professionals is an exciting piece of our broader national strategy that will see us open additional new markets in the weeks and months ahead.”

In-Home Therapy Acquires Remedy Therapy Staffing, Expands to Austin and San Antonio, TX Markets

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA. (PRWEB) JULY 13, 2022

The home therapy brand will expand its reach within and support the therapy community, partnering with the therapists and business owners behind Remedy to grow within Texas markets.

InHome Therapy has acquired Remedy Therapy Staffing, an Austin, Texas-based home health company. The acquisition will expand InHome Therapy’s footprint to a new market while strengthening its network of committed therapists providing in-home therapy.

“I think this particular company’s culture is a great fit with InHome Therapy. In terms of heroicizing the therapist, providing training, and focusing on patient outcomes, our priorities align,” explained Rick Anglin, InHome Therapy’s Corporate Development Officer. “Remedy is extremely well run and has a strong management team, and both owners are staying on.”

Remedy Therapy Staffing was initially born out of two therapists’ desire to provide quality home health care to their communities. After crossing paths professionally over the years, Kristen Fowler and Keri Jackson worked side-by-side in a rehabilitation environment and began discussing the possibility of starting their own home-health business.

“We focus on home health, and we both like doing geriatrics, so that has been a priority,” Fowler explained. “We like the flexibility and the ability to provide more personalized care in the home. We both have a lot of hospital experience, and we realized just how important home health is as well.”

Remedy was established in 2010 and has been led by the two ever since.

The brand has always emphasized the value of its therapists and worked to prioritize both the therapists and their patients, always looking for ways to make the lives of everyone involved a bit better.

“I really like that we have therapists leading therapists,” Jackson said. “That’s really our special sauce.” InHome Therapy’s emphasis on the connection between its therapists ensures there will be a fantastic culture fit.

After experiencing rapid growth, Fowler and Jackson knew that change would be coming for the company. Though the COVID-19 pandemic hampered business, Remedy persisted, and business has been on a steady uptick ever since. Some of the brand’s connections were left to grow and rebuild after the pandemic, and their utilization of Remedy’s network of therapists jumped from about 50% to 90%.

“We knew we were either going to acquire someone or get acquired. Then InHome came, and it was the perfect fit,” Fowler explained. “I think InHome will be a great home for our therapists, and they will continue to provide excellent quality care. At Remedy, we don’t want to be just a staffing company; we want to be the primary contact for anyone we are working with because it allows us to be timely and offer the best care.”

Anglin explained that Texas is a prime market for InHome as the geriatric population has been growing within the area, and home health agencies are in high demand. As the two brands come together, Anglin said that he hopes existing client relationships will be strengthened while providing the support of a national brand with a national footprint.

InHome Therapy Wraps Up Q1 With Impressive Nationwide Growth and Activity

The Home Therapy as a Service (HTaaS) provider saw a new acquisition, expanded into four new states and celebrated two executive leadership additions with Dan Haggerty, Chief Revenue Officer and Kristie Kamps, Chief Clinical Officer.

InHome Therapy has wrapped up the first quarter of 2022 with 48 new therapists, two additions to its executive leadership team and four new markets entered, including Western Florida, California, Indiana and Ohio.

In March, the company announced the acquisition of Contract Therapy Services, Inc., a therapy company that provides contract physical, occupational and speech therapy, and registered dietitian services in Fort Myers and Naples, Florida, and Los Angeles, California, with a particular expertise in speech. Earlier that month, InHome Therapy also signed contracts with leading home health agency offices across Indiana, with the plan of treating patients in 57 of Indiana’s 92 counties by year-end.

InHome Therapy also expanded its leadership team in the first quarter of 2022. The company hired Dan Haggerty as Chief Revenue Officer and promoted Kristie Kamps to Chief Clinical Officer. As CRO, Haggerty will lead the company’s national new market expansion efforts by building on his 25-year business development-based career which has led him through several industries.

“I am excited to join such a massively growth-based company,” said Haggerty. “My business development background will help us ensure our agency partners are as successful as possible in this changing landscape. We’ve spent the first quarter building out a business development department for our agency partners. They provide a very intimate service that ultimately allows seniors to age in place comfortably, and it feels great to take on a role to help make that happen.”

Kamps brings over 20 years of clinical and business experience as a dedicated healthcare professional, where she served as Clinical Director of TNR Staffing, LLC, a company acquired by InHome Therapy in 2021.

“I knew I could leverage my experience working in several areas of clinical care and provide value to everyone involved in the home therapy as a service model, optimizing the outcomes of patients in the home,” said Kamps. “I’ve also been an owner and operator and have been in management and consulting roles. I love our InHome leadership team — we are focused on not only the therapists, but the whole picture of doing right by patients, and I knew I could help achieve that mission.”

Matt Murphy, CEO added, “In every area of the company, we now have a strong leader in place. Many of us have worked together in other capacities before and we’ve been able to build some terrific chemistry and position ourselves for a bright future.”

To further build out its infrastructure, Murphy says InHome has also spent the beginning of the year developing new ERP (enterprise resource planning) technology to make its processes faster and more efficient, ultimately ensuring life is easier for the therapist. InHome Therapy is also rolling out a community platform in the form of a proprietary online resource, which will provide a consistent way for therapists to build community and connect.

Kicking off Q2, Haggerty says InHome Therapy has already completed another acquisition of the Austin-based home care agency Remedy, which will help the company expand its footprint to Austin, Dallas and Houston. InHome Therapy is also in the process of expanding in Ohio, with recent partnerships in Columbus, Newark and Athens.

Looking ahead, Murphy says InHome Therapy aims to leverage the team and infrastructure for continued growth in both new and existing markets. InHome Therapy has several acquisitions lined up and in the future, and will have a presence in markets including Philadelphia, Chicago, Orlando and South Florida, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Southern California, Indiana and Ohio.

InHome Therapy Helps Interim HealthCare of Treasure Coast Receive its First 5-Star Rating

By building supportive communities for therapists, the first Home-Therapist-as-a-Service (HTaaS) agency is helping healthcare providers improve therapist services and patient outcomes.

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.May 4, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — InHome Therapy, the first Home Therapy as a Service (HTaaS) solution in the healthcare market, has helped Interim HealthCare of Treasure Coast, Florida, receive its first five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Interim Healthcare of the Treasure Coast Executive has been partnered with InHome Therapy for over a decade. Interim Healthcare Director Patrick Topp says the partnership has been essential in improving the quality of care it provides.

“We contract out our therapists, and the partnership with InHome has allowed us to leverage their therapy community without having to individually recruit staff,” he said. “Most outsourced therapists are very independent, and because they are overworked and on their own, the quality of care they provide suffers. InHome’s therapists are supported and work together as a community, and you can really see the results. Partnering with them has done so much to affirm our reputation in local markets.”

According to Kristie Kamps, InHome Therapy’s Chief Clinical Officer, the agency trains its therapists to help prevent rehospitalization — one of three crucial metrics (along with evaluation outcomes and patient satisfaction survey) by which agencies are rated. Additionally, InHome Therapy provides therapists with the resources and education they need to promote patient improvement between the initial and final evaluations.

“We educate therapists with training and documentation so that our performance outcomes are as positive as possible,” said Kamps. “When the survey is done after the final discharge of the patient, a third party will reach out to the patient to fill out a satisfaction survey. It asks a variety of questions, and we’ve focused our training programs on ensuring those questions are answered in the most positive way. We’ve worked backward to see how our patients answered these questions and how we could improve. Now, we train our therapists from the beginning so they know what to look for and can provide constant collaboration and communication.”

For example, by analyzing previous satisfaction surveys, InHome Therapy saw that patients were not satisfied with the way therapists were answering their questions in regards to their medication profiles.

“When patients saw the therapists come in, they felt as though questions were only being asked about therapy, not about medication,” Kamps said. “We trained therapists to ask those medication-centric questions every single time they came into the client’s home. As we continued to align therapists with the needs of their clients, the agency’s rating gradually improved.”

Topp says InHome Therapy’s support has been invaluable in helping the agency receive its first five-star rating from CMS.

“The rating is something that I am extremely proud of. It demonstrates that we are a high-quality, patient-centered agency,” he said. “InHome Therapy helps us provide the best care possible from start to finish. Therapists are an integral part of ensuring patients can navigate their homes in a safe, efficient manner. Without InHome Therapy, it would have been very hard to achieve a five-star rating.”

Looking ahead, Topp says Interim Healthcare of the Treasure Coast is looking to expand to new territories and will continue to collaborate with InHome Therapy to help promote that growth. And as InHome Therapy grows into new markets as well, it is actively seeking new therapist partners who align with its purpose of ensuring that patients, agencies and therapists rise together.

“We’re proud to have hired some of the most talented and passionate professionals in this industry, and we can’t wait to build on that momentum as we continue to grow,” InHome Therapy’s Cheif Revenue Officer, Dan Haggerty said. “As the first HTaaS solution in the market, there’s a lot of ground to cover on this new frontier of home health— and we’re excited to do it with some of the most talented professionals who genuinely care about our grassroots purpose and wish to grow in their field.”

Why in-depth training is the key to retaining therapists in home health

In today’s post-pandemic landscape, labor challenges are quickly becoming the No. 1 headache for business owners across every segment. The home health industry, which provides services and treatments for patients outside of medical offices, is a prime example, with demand among aging baby boomers significantly outpacing the available labor force of therapists.

Some agencies rejected as many as 40% of new referrals last year, according to CNN, because physical, occupational and speech therapists have become so difficult to come by in today’s environment. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t hope. By elevating their training and development programs, employers can bring talented practitioners back into the profession — and keep them there.

Especially among the younger generation coming into the workforce, therapists want to know they are going to receive the training and development necessary to become a pro and take that next step towards their future goals. Therapists sign up for a lifelong learning profession, and employers need to be able to provide an infrastructure that promotes upward mobility, for both the individual employee and the organization at large. In the words of Henry Ford: “The only thing worse than training your employees and having them leave is not training them and having them stay.”

Make culture a priority

To start, home health employers need to focus on their culture. They need to gain real clarity around their purpose and outline what success looks like within the agency. From there, home health care providers need to understand the goals, aspirations and skill sets of their therapists. This can be learned through an assessment or an engagement survey, which will tell employers what is most essential to employees, and allow them to start building the training tools and programs needed to provide those resources.

But training is not simply a box employers check off on a to-do list; organizations need evidence that the development programs are actually creating a behavioral change. When it comes to measuring these changes, organizations often have trouble closing the gap between the quantitative metrics, such as increased sales, and the qualitative metrics, like communication. This is where ongoing retention data and stakeholder satisfaction surveys can be extremely valuable.

For example, a trait like “positive attitude” may be difficult to quantify in the field, but with a survey, organizations can create a scale of 1 to 10 and start to generate a picture of how their employees fit in with the profile and whether or not training procedures need to be tweaked in that area. If surveys show that documentation is the therapist’s least favorite part of the job, organizations need to develop new training procedures that will help them overcome those obstacles so they enjoy their job more and be better-positioned to succeed from day one.

Training key to retention

The training experience, whether it be an orientation or shadowing established employees, will not only dictate the primary success of the new employee but also play a critical role in retention long-term. By emphasizing continuing education and development opportunities, agencies can ensure therapists feel confident that this specific organization will help them achieve future career milestones. These are upfront investments that pay tremendous dividends for the employer moving forward.

Today’s generation of therapists don’t give employers much leeway — organizations need to get it right the first time. That is why it is essential to look at training and education as a primary tool to attract and retain top talent in the industry. Keeping therapists well-equipped to provide high-quality care in any circumstance will help create a more satisfied workforce and a more successful home health care organization overall.

Matt Murphy is the chief executive officer of InHome Therapy. Previously, he was CEO of Griswold Home Care, a national franchisor of private duty home care services. Murphy also led FHS, a revenue cycle management business in the senior care industry, and served in business leadership positions for several other private equity-backed services businesses.

Meaghan Chitwood is the chief operating officer for InHome Therapy. She previously was a franchisee of BNI, and served as the director of global training and president of franchised countries for BNI Global LLC. Chitwood has also been a lean six sigma consultant for school systems.

InHome Therapy Capitalizes on Shift to Home-Based Care

A little over a year ago InHome Therapy CEO Matt Murphy set out to “rule the world” of home-based therapy. Incrementally, he’s doing just that. The Chicago-based firm’s recent acquisition of Florida-based Contract Therapy Services will expand its footprint in the Sunshine State and provide new access to patients in a fifth state, California.

As the former president and CEO of Griswold Home Care, Murphy saw an opportunity to move more therapy into the home. A $2.5 billion investment from private equity firm NewSpring Healthcare launched InHome Therapy in early 2021 and by the end of this year the company plans to double the number of therapists on its payroll from 300 to 600.

“More and more care is shifting into the home and it’s absolutely the place where patients want to receive care, so therapy fits really well with that,” Murphy told McKnight’s Home Care Daily Pulse. “Therapists can achieve better results in the home because the patient is happier there.”

InHome Therapy provides physical, occupational and speech therapy services. The company partners with home health agencies and acts as a staffing source for therapists. The platform is also helping home health agencies and therapists mitigate current higher fuel costs by scheduling clients in closer proximity to each other.

Murphy said by using InHome Therapy, home health agencies can focus on client healthcare and sourcing nurses. The model allows therapists to work independently, while also having a support system of other therapists.

“What we want to provide around those experiences is a community of therapists, a place to have colleagues, a place to get training, mentoring and be recognized for the heroic work that you are doing and the results that you’re getting with patients,” Murphy explained.

InHome Therapy will continue to broaden its footprint  this year, with expansion plans slated for Indiana and New Jersey.
